My Students

I work in a Title I school with a large (approximately 30%) English Language Learner (ELL) population. We are desperately in need of updated technology to assist in in implementing some new, technology based reading instruction.

My students are enthusiastic, 21st century learners, meaning that they respond to technology.

I am a firm believer in getting the most bang for my buck, if I can use technology to trick kids into learning, I need better technology!

Currently I have four outdated desktops, these laptops will help tremendously.

My Project

For the students of today, technology is part of their everyday lives. We will be using the laptops to implement a technology based reading program. I currently have four antique desktop computers in my classroom, usually only two work.

In addition to giving my students better access to technology based reading, laptops will free up room in the classroom, allowing students more choice in where they feel like they will be more successful in their learning.

With these laptops and reading program I can track student progress and better plan for future instruction. The laptops will assist in both enrichment for above grade level students and intervention for struggling learners.
