My students are simply amazing! I absolutely adore them. They are the sweetest 6- and 7-year-olds you will ever meet. We are a small, rural town, in the East Texas area. The school where I teach is a Title I school, where 76% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. A large percentage of our students are also English language learners.
Every day, these sweet kiddos are always eager to learn and willing to take on new challenges no matter how difficult.
They are thoughtful, caring, funny, and hardworking. I couldn’t ask for a better group of students.
My Project
The materials I am requesting for this project will help my students in so many ways! In addition to the laptop, I am requesting bins and buckets to help organize our classroom.
Precious instructional and learning time can be lost if students have to spend their time digging for supplies instead of being engaged in learning.
Having these bins and buckets will help the supplies in our classroom stay organized. These buckets have options to be labeled which will be great reading practice for my firsties as well as reinforce word recognition and vocabulary for my ESL kiddos!
The laptop will also be super helpful in our classroom since we can use it to play math games such as Xtra-Math and Prodigy as well as use it for iStation and to take Accelerated Reader (AR) tests after reading our books.
