My students need technology equipment to start their year off right. They will get headphones to use with laptops and flash drives to save their wonderful work.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work in an urban, Title 1 school where all students get free breakfast and most students receive a free lunch each day. That doesn't stop them from being an amazing group of kids! They are funny, intelligent, and compassionate students.
My students need materials to prepare them to adapt to technology of the future.
Most jobs that will be available when they enter the workforce have not even been created yet as our world is rapidly changing. Many of my students do not have access to technological resources at home. The students are developing skills that will help them be successful now, as well as throughout their lives. Please help me help them grow.
My Project
My students are fortunate enough to have 1 to 1 technology. What that means is they each have their own Chromebook to use during the school day. This is an amazing opportunity to teach them technology skills, as well as keep them engaged.
My students need earbuds so they can each have a way of hearing their computers without disrupting the class.
They will use them to watch educational videos, listen to audiobooks, play learning games, and hear themselves after recording their reading.
In addition, they need flash drives so they are able to save their work. They will also learn how to transfer files and print. Finally, they will be able to take their work home with them to continue working at home if desired.
