Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is in a high poverty area. We have just begun putting technology into the hands of our students. Most of my students do not have Internet access at home. There are endless possibilities for education available on the internet.

My students love to learn new things.

They are very curious about their world. Animals, weather, and far away places are some topics that are high-interest for my students. They have endless questions and I would love to be able to answer by allowing them to view and interact with our smartboard.

My Project

A wonderful parent won a smartboard for our classroom by entering a contest through Box Tops for Education. We are unable to use this fantastic smartboard because it is too far from our one and only classroom desktop computer. If we had a laptop to use with it, we could access the Internet and our smartboard, using it all to its fullest potential.

I feel this will make a difference by exposing my students to the many resources and activities available to use with a laptop and smartboard.

I believe it will allow my students to use technology to get more out of science.
