Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

W.H.S. was recreated three years ago as a triple Science magnet, and is unique in public education. The magnets are Aerospace and Aviation, Sports Medicine, and Environmental Science. Students with interests in these careers engage in project based learning specific to the magnet.

Students are 95% African-American and Hispanic, and are highly motivated to pursue college careers.

The Aerospace and Aviation magnet only accepts gifted students, and these are the students I will be teaching. They chose to attend this magnet school because they want to realize their dreams of careers within this branch of science.

My Project

My students will have much better access to computer based learning if I have a laptop to load videos, power points, and many other technical resources. The laptop will be used with a projector to engage students and further their learning in the career of choice.

Using white boards to teach is two dimensional learning.

A laptop will open up the three dimensional learning opportunities available to them, using all the resources available on the internet, that can be folded into lessons to make them truly meaningful.
