Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a small school with a diverse population. We have students who come from households with a laptop for everyone in the home, and we have those who don't have access to a laptop or the internet. My students are creative, bright, innovative, and technology-driven 21st-century thinkers. My students are very enthusiastic about learning new things, love coming to school, are problem solvers, and always come to school eager to tackle new and challenging projects. They thrive on creative projects that require higher-level thinking skills and cooperative learning.
My Project
My students need a laptop that is compatible with our Wonder Workshop robots. My students are in their 2nd year of competing in robotics competitions and we need an Apple laptop to keep up with our competitors. Students have coded the robots with their own personal iPhones with much difficulty. They borrow my phone as well since we have more than one team.
We would be more competitive if we had an Apple laptop that would allow the students to code the robots with the best technology available.
Every year, I expand my knowledge of robots and technology and enjoy providing this amazing learning opportunity to my students.
