I am a sixth grade teacher at a Title I school. I have been teaching at this school for 14 years. Many of my students come from low-income households, but this doesn't stop them from achieving their goals. My students are incredibly hardworking. The school that I work at serves over 29 different languages.
We work hard at our school to create a welcoming environment where all students feel represented!
My Project
My students are learning completely online. I am teaching them from a six-year-old laptop that constantly freezes and even kicks me out of my own meetings. Help my students by donating a laptop to improve the speed and quality of their learning experience.
Our district was set to purchase up-to-date laptops for all teaches this school year.
When the pandemic forced all learning to happen remotely, the district had to change its plan. The focus turned to getting devices in the hands of all students so that they could access the learning from home.
Our out-of-date teacher laptops won't allow us to see all the students at one time during a Zoom call because the processers are too old. This computer would allow me to connect with them all without shuffling through screens multiple times within a class. It would also drastically improve the image and sound for my students.
This laptop will also be used when we return to school! Help me to help my students have a great learning experience.
