Laptop for Learning

Help me give my students the opportunity to use technology with a new laptop! Many don't have a laptop or computer at home. The only opportunity many of my students get to access technology in the classroom.

My Students

I have the privilege of teaching 29 Second Grade ESL students who love school and come in ready to learn each day.

We are a diverse group coming from many different backgrounds, but we all have the common love of learning.

We are in a high-poverty area, many have limited English skills, and some are even fleeing war-torn countries with their families for a better life. These students work so hard and are optimistic and enthusiastic, despite the challenges or barriers many of them face. My greatest reward is watching them succeed!

My Project

This laptop will provide a resource for my students to work on various computer based programs that our school has access to. They will be learning how to use these programs and that will help them to get excited about learning. It is essential that we provide our students with the learning and tools they need.

We have found that in order for our students to be successful in online testing that they need to practice these programs with up to date technology.

By having a laptop I can teach my students the skills that they will need to be successful adults.
