This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach an active group of second grade students. These students are very eager to learn everything I can teach them. They are eager learners, but we lack resources to adequately meet their needs. Our community doesn't offer access to lots of resources either. These students deserve the best. We are a title 1 school, and we receive the necessities from title 1, but there are things title 1 monies cannot provide due to guidelines. Students need new resources that the students can use for many years to come.

My Project

My students need a laptop computer to use with our Promethean Board and other classroom activities. We are without a monitor for our computer currently. It would greatly reduce the chaos and stress of the day to have a complete working laptop to use with our Promethean Board. We love doing whole class and small group activities on the Promethean Board, and we are currently missing this aspect of our day. We also need a VGA converter because there wasn't an affordable laptop option on the vendors that had VGA capabilities. Our Promethean Boards hook up via VGA, so this will be needed as well.

The students will also be using the laptop to publish their writing, take AR quizzes, and work on interventions.
