This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a Kindergarten teacher in a title I school with many ELL learners. Our school is fairly new, we are approaching our seventh year, replacing a school that has phased out (closed). The support you provide here will help our new school succeed in the community and help our scholars get the best education possible.

As Malala Yousafzai once said "One child, one teacher, one pen, one book can change the world." The students in my kindergarten classroom are the future and providing them the tools they need to succeed will make a difference in the world.

My Project

Our littlest learners in school often can’t learn at a typical desk like their older peers. The developmental level of a kindergartner makes it difficult for them to sit focus at a traditional desk. Which is why I am hoping to get desks to match the attention span of my littlest learners. These lap desks will allow my kindergartners to learn at the rug where they can focus and become a part of the learning taking place. This will help little minds stay focused. I am excited to have a learning tool that will allow them to work and learn all over the classroom setting.
