My Students

My students are 1-2 children in a self-contained behavior disorder class, primarily because they need help controlling and regulating their emotions. They have very big feelings in small bodies. These kids are great kids, but just need help calming down when their world is imploding.

My students are a group of hard working, innovative, and creative-minded students.

Most of these children don't have access to extra materials but are extremely resourceful and make do with what they have and rarely ask for more. I want to give them what they are missing and truly make their educational experience memorable as well as meaningful.

My Project

Having these lap desks would change the whole dynamic of our classroom. Since we will not have traditional desks, we will have a lot more space to move around and participate in class activities. Lap desks also give the students the greatest luxury of all: choice. They get to learn in their own space and at their own pace. Since they will not be limited to an assigned desk, my students will be free to learn where ever they feel comfortable.

Getting this project funded will be an amazing way to continue the school year!

I know these desks will help my students accomplish so much more in class. These lap desks will not only impact my students this year, but for many years to come. Support the freedom of choice and donate today!
