I am a teacher of fifth graders in a small rural county of North Carolina. Our school has a range of socio-economic children. Most of our children come from low income families and don't always have the money for the resources they might need in school. This year, as in all other years, I have used lap boards, also called dry erase boards that are cut for children to use individually to do a range of activities in math, reading, spelling, etc. The boards I have been using for the last 20 years were made from shower tile and are quite ragged and dirty. I especially enjoy using these boards with my children because they get excited not having to use paper and pencil all the time. I am asking for your help in supplying lap/dry erase boards, markers, and dry erasers for a class of thirty children. These materials will be used on a daily basis and can be reused by other children over many years.
