My students need a printer with color printing capabilities for yearbook, so they may see their proofs in an accurate manner as they progress through this seminal annual student publication.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Throughout my time at my inspiring high school, I have met some of the strongest, hardest-working teenagers in the U.S. They represent the dream, and are passionate about their family, their education, and their culture. One student worked three jobs, two after school and one on the weekends, to send money home to her mom, who she had not seen in three years. She graduated and is now in the Army. These stories are plentiful, and urge me to fight to get my students the materials they deserve.
All students in all areas deserve the tools and technology to help them in our fight for equality.
Much of my school is on free or reduced price lunch, many ride the bus, some taking two or three stops to get to our school, and most speak two languages. Their parents work extremely hard, and I really earnestly want to provide them with materials they may not have access to otherwise. I love my students, who range from freshmen to seniors, and want to instill a passion for English, reading, composition, journalism, mindfulness, compassion, and school spirit. Thank you for reading!
My Project
My journalism students require a color printer in order to accurately see their design work in progress before publication. What is seen on the screen of a computer is not true to how it looks when printed, so a color printer will aid students in correct visualization of their projects. This will help not only in creating the yearbook, but also in marketing and advertising the yearbook. English I students will also have access to the printer for projects, and all students will have access with permission to print resumes or other necessary documents.
All students will have the necessary access to a printer/scanner/copier for any of their documents, but my journalism students will benefit greatly from an available color printer and ink.
