More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Never Before Funded
Help me give my students a new laminator for creating projects that last.
My students learn in a Title I school near a military base. Many of our students have experienced some type of family transition (single-parent home, blended family, divorce/separation, low income, etc). The majority of my school receives a free or reduced-price lunch. The students at my school are all hard workers. They come to school every day, ready to learn.
My students are a very active bunch and are capable of doing amazing things this year.
My students set goals for themselves and they achieve them. They are smart, kind, and caring. They work hard as individuals and come together as a team.
My students are eager to learn and love whole group activities that allow them to listen to stories, cooperate with peers, and attend technology lessons. Our community has a high population of military families. We have a supportive community and administration, however, there are fewer funds for classroom resources.
If this project is funded, our school will have access to an industrial type laminator. This will help our students by providing them with materials that will last the lifetime of a teacher/classroom. Laminating helps protect learning materials, anchor charts, student-made projects, and bulletin board materials.
Having a working laminator at a school is vital.
One way that a laminator is used, that is so important, is through creating visual cues and cards for our Exceptional Children. The visuals vary depending on the need of the child, but can include pictures and words like "stop", "walk", "sit down", and "no hitting".
This laminator will not only help my students but will also help every teacher and student in my school.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
