My Students
My students are honors level middle school aged children who are becoming introductory language learners. They come from varying economic backgrounds and social situations but they all share a love for learning. They are highly motivated, honors level learners! Many are magnet students who study dance, theatre, music or art along with their regular course load.
We have a very small department consisting of two teachers, an average class size of 25 students and a $0 budget for supplies.
All school fundraising goes towards benefiting the arts programs or academic clusters which, though helpful, exclude foreign language.
My Project
Creativity in lesson planning lends itself to the constant printing and copying of new materials. This happens with a lot of trial and error but after some degree of success, I am looking to preserve materials that have proven to be effective with hopes to avoid repeated printing and copying. This will help free up paper and ink for other teachers, as well as help the classroom to run in a more organized fashion. I am also requesting a hefty set of dry erase markers for students to use with laminated materials. Help us to embark on a new adventure in preserving resources!
