Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in a Title I school where all the students receive free breakfast and lunch everyday. Last year, we were struck by Hurricane Harvey in our area and many of my students lost their homes. As a teacher, I have to provide an environment where my students can feel safe and motivated to come to school to learn and do their best everyday. Despite the hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best everyday. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful.
My Project
My class is preschool level, which forms the basis of education of academic development. At this level, children need many types of materials to develop their skills. But their curious little hands can mistreat all kinds of paper.
With your donations I will be able to laminate all the resources that are necessary.
I am also requesting some Velcro to use as fasteners for the laminated materials, and some dry erase markers. It is very exciting to see how such insignificant things can make a big difference in the education of young students.
