Mrs. Tracy Smith from Rosedale NY is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
The cost of this proposal for four rolls of laminating film that will mean math manipulatives can be laminated and students can take them home to reinforce the day's lesson is $256, including shipping and <a target="new" href="http://www.donorschoose.org/html/fulfillment.htm" onclick="g_openWindow('http://www.donorschoose.org/html/fulfillment.htm', 300, 800, 'fulfillwindow');return false;">fulfillment</a>.

I am a third-grade teacher. This is my fifth year teaching at PS 38, The Rosedale School. At least 54% of our students receive free lunch. I often make suggestions to the PTA, am on a fund-raising committee with other teachers, and work hard to assure that students' parents stay involved with the school. We have been trying to purchase a laminating machine for three years, and are thrilled to report that we finally have received funding to get one through Donors Choose! Now we need to purchase rolls of laminating film and are asking for funding to purchase four rolls. Beginning in the fall of 2004, we at PS 38 began a new math program, and we are giving the children new manipulatives, numerous copies of many new things. Once we are able to laminate these pages, our students will have manipulatives to work with that will last. Having laminating film will mean we can preserve the many manipulatives used in our classes. We will save manipulatives in our math program and in our reading program as well. The students will be able to use these items on a regular basis, and they will be able to take them home to reinforce what they've learned in school. Thank you for your time and consideration.
