My students need a laminating machine so that we can preserve their work and learning materials. Visual supports help make my students' day easier.

Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." - Benjamin Franklin As a teacher of special needs children, the hands on experience is essential to my students' day. My students learn best when they participate and have an opportunity to be involved in the learning process.
We are a small school district near Detroit that allows children from our community as well as Detroit children to attend.
100% of our students receive free breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For many of them and their families this is a blessing. I am the speech and language teacher for students in pre-kindergarten to third grade. At our school, we are a family, all children are loved, respected and accepted.
I would like to have a lamination machine and laminating pouches to help preserve the materials my students use on a daily basis. The students would be able to transport materials from school to home and back without ruining the activity. Many of my students' day is supported by a visual schedule which requires laminating along with many other visual supports which makes their day successful. I like to make games and vocabulary picture cards to support reinforcement for home programs. A lamination machine will help to ensure that these materials are durable and that they will be around for a long time.
By donating to my project you will be helping ensure that students have durable materials that they can use again and again.
It will also ensure that students will have visual supports that they can use at school and at home. The lamination machine will help me provide sturdy reinforcement materials which is important to me and my parents.
