Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever seen a 5th grader's desk or cubby!? There are papers everywhere, books carelessly shoved in and pencil shavings adding a little decoration! My students love to keep their work but have a hard time keeping it safe. Laminating their projects will help them protect and admire their creations!

My students are a talented bunch!

They are very artistic and creative! They can turn a math graph into a work of art. They can make a book report come alive with colorful illustrations. They love to create and they do so with purpose. We are a school that is one of 2 in South Carolina that is at the 100% poverty level. Instead of letting that define us, we use it to motivate and push us. It makes us work hard for what we want and we want to succeed! The students in my class struggle to complete assignments for various reasons: little support from home, learning disabilities, and attention disorders. So when we do get an assignment completed, we want to keep it a long time! A laminator will help us do that!

My Project

A paper trimmer and classroom laminator are two items that will allow my students to create and save their created projects. A classroom laminator will allow us to save the projects that we work so hard to create! Students will be able to admire their work even after they are out of elementary school. It might even be something they can share with their children! We will also be able to preserve pictures and other important items that can be viewed year after year. The paper trimmer is a quick and easy way for students to streamline and perfect their projects and illustrations. For big projects, this is a much quicker way to complete them and move on to other instructional activities. Both of these items would be a valuable asset to our classroom.

The paper trimmer and laminator are a great way to preserve our work!

We know that if the laminated work can stand the test of a 5th grader's desk, then the work will last a very long time! Please help us create, keep, admire, and share our completed projects with a new laminator and paper trimmer!
