Over half of the students in my school receive a free or reduced lunch. They come from a variety of backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common; they have a desire to be engaged in their learning. We are a rural school with our share of challenges but our teachers continually put these kids first.
We are endeavoring to create makers--makers of new things, makers of connections, and makers of the next big thing!
Every child I know is proud to show off something they've just made or something they've used their imagination to create!
OES started our first ever STEM Lending Library this fall and it has been a huge hit with our families! We hope to continue growing our resources and offering more opportunities to our families.
Family engagement is crucial to the success of our students.
These resources allow families to work together at home to solve real world problems using 21st century learning skills. Our goal is to make meaningful activities accessible to students and for families to spend time together. The first set of learning tools was such a huge hit and we want to continue to build on that foundation!
