This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from low socioeconomic households. Many of them rent rooms or apartments with multiple families. All of my students are second language learners. My school serves free breakfast, brunch, and lunch to 100% of our students.

My students are so excited and enthusiastic about coming to school to learn.

They eagerly read books and discuss them with classmates. Writing is done every day, and they love to share out in the author's chair. We need more resources so that students can get to grade level.

My Project

My students love science! Unfortunately, our science curriculum is out of date, and we are working on getting newer curriculum. Please help my grade get the opportunity to observe the life cycles of ants, ladybugs, and caterpillars in the classroom! Students would get to see all of these insects first hand: ants, ladybugs, and caterpillars; and get to see the metamorphosis of the caterpillar into chrysalis and to a butterfly! Students love seeing the ants form different paths and I love that they are self contained in an easy way to observe.
