My students are amazing! They live in a low economic rural area but don't let that stop their opportunity to dream and succeed. They amaze me every day by learning both online and in-person during these challenging times. They are becoming life long learners and constantly ask questions to make their learning more meaningful. They show up every day ready to catch their dreams. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, many classrooms are in a remote learning environment. This will be a new approach to teaching that will surely present many challenges as well as opportunities to innovate. Having choices in the setting, safety, and content will be beneficial to all the needs of our students. Students will be able to bloom socially, emotionally, and academically with this new platform.
Students and families (K-12) and teachers will be working together to do whatever it takes to learn this year!
My Project
Keeping young ladies positive and healthy is a task they need to think of daily. Our Ladies lead- Self Care Club uses all aspects of health to do just that. This project will help my students participate in an after school running club and help them stay focused and hydrated. The water bottles will allow them to stay hydrated before and after they run/walk. The fitness journals will help us set personal goals for self-care. Keeping the materials together and ready to go in a string bag will make running/walking easier to participate in.
Self-care is a priority in all of our after-school programs and these materials can be used throughout the year as a foundation in our club.
I want my students to feel safe and motivated while focusing on their well being. Thanks for considering this project to help out with our after school Self Care Club.
