This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The awesome students at our school come from very diverse backgrounds. We have diverse cultural and economic backgrounds, but some of our similarities are: many of us qualify for free and reduced-price lunch, many of us speak English as a second language or do not speak English at home, and we all love to be hands-on, artistic and creative during science class. Doing science experiments can get messy and wet, so we would love aprons and goggles to protect our eyes and clothes.

We are all students with big dreams!

We want to be scientists, engineers, doctors, teachers, and a million other things! Please help us achieve our goals!

My Project

Students love coming to science class because they get to do experiments with things they have never used or seen before. My classroom is missing goggles and aprons- basic necessities of a good science laboratory- which limits the kinds and numbers of experiments that can be done in class.

Students are excited by things that pop, explode, make bright colors and big splashes.

But it is hard to do that without basic safety equipment. Students will be able to wear goggles to keep chemicals out of their eyes and aprons to keep materials off of their clothes. Help my students be able to do bigger, more exciting things in class!
