Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach an awesome and eager group of third grade students in an inner-city school where one hundred percent of students receive free school lunch. We are located in a lower socioeconomic neighborhood where most parents are working hard to provide for the family. As you can imagine, there are some typical society issues that my students may face, yet they continue to strive to do their best.
My students are motivated, engaged, and respectful learners who need teachers and the school support to help them become successful in life.
Our school motto is to be respectful, responsible, and scholarly. In order to help them achieve these goals, I must provide them with the best classroom environment, full of proper supplies and guidance.
My Project
As you know, the pandemic has changed the way we teach. My kindergartners need labels to help them find and return their materials in the classroom to where they belong. They have workbooks that they need to find and work in. We need this Phomemo label maker for my students to make sure they are not getting the wrong materials.
I also will use the label maker to print out the QR codes they use to get Covid tested weekly.
It will now have their name on it and they can wear it around their neck. After they are done getting Covid tested, they can put it in their pencil boxes.
Lastly, many bring disposable water bottles from home that are from the same maker! They can’t figure out which is theirs, so now a label will be put on each bottle entering the classroom.
The new variant is very contagious and keeping everything separated is so important!
