I am an 8th grade teacher at my school district. My school district is a Title 1 school district where more than seventy-five percent of our children receive reduced lunches and free lunches.
I am privileged to teach an amazing group of students that have a true desire to make the world a better place by using the knowledge they gain through our AG class.
These students show a great desire to learn and apply their knowledge concerning our natural resources, managing agriculture, and food. My students frequently compete with other schools and always show their creative nature as they develop numerous strategies that help improve our environmental and agricultural issues.
My Project
We complete several activities a week in our AG classroom lab area. These labs are multi-level labs that require many different supplies to complete and can be expensive sometimes. If my class had numerous colors of paper supplied to them to use during lab activities, it would allow them to be able to sort their assignments and data more quickly. The use of various colors would also help us analyze our data and stats more quickly. The Quill Brand Colored Paper 8- ½ x 11 inch letter size packs of paper with 500 sheets would be used by my students everyday in our classroom. The various colors of blue, yellow, ivory, green, and pink would allow my students the opportunity to sort their information on various colored paper and make the information more identifiable. The use of the Crayola Classpack Non-washable Markers with broad tips in assorted colors would also be utilized by my students has they create graphs and carts on their colored paper to display data when they represent it to the class.
