My Students

We are a large suburban high school of close to 2700 students. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and neighborhoods. We have students of every academic ability level. Many are in stable homes with comfortable financial situations, but we also have many families that are struggling. The majority of our students speak English as their first language, but there are also those that are just learning the language.

The Anatomy & Physiology course is a challenging elective science class that does not provide students with a higher grade point average.

The majority of the students are interested in a career in a health or medical field and take the course because of their love of science.

My Project

This project involves purchasing lab equipment. This equipment will last for years and can be used in multiple classrooms. These items will allow students to work in groups of four, instead of six or eight.

The success of a lab experiment is often dependent on using the correct measurements for the lab supplies and then gathering accurate data.

The portable balances will help students securing the correct amounts of the lab supplies. The sensors will help them gather accurate data for a variety of experiments relating to anatomy and physiology.
