My students are naturally inquisitive, thinkers, and explores. The students are eager to learn new things and have a more hands-on approach to science. These students need a push in the right direction to get the STEM train moving.
What zipcode a student lives in should not define them or their abilities to excel in STEM areas.
My students are thirsting for science and the ability to learn new science concepts that can be applied to future careers. Let's help them out!
I walked into my new home and looked around and saw nothing but a few desks. I said where are the microscopes? Where are the beakers? We have very minimal supplies was the response I was given. The students need to have hands-on experience with lab equipment in order to properly cement their feet into a career in the sciences.
In order for my students to rise above their zip code, we must supply them with basic lab supplies like beakers and cylinders.
If we can give students the proper access to the basics then we can help change the trajectory of the paths. There is only one way to go....UP!
