Help me give my students an iPad to increase their electronic knowledge and skills.

My students love being active and learning from hands-on experiences. They are excited when there is something new to explore in our classroom. The majority come from low-income homes. We are a very diverse classroom. Our families have different occupations, different skills and abilities, and a variety of personality traits, values and attitudes. We are dynamic, driven, and all different! So why not celebrate the differences?
In our school family, we teach them to celebrate their differences and treat everyone with respect.
Daily we not only see hearts with laughter, help them grow, and let them wander and explore from one form of art to the next. I am a teacher that is passionate about not providing what's fair but what's fair to each child that enters our school family. I work hard to differentiate for each of my students so that I am maximizing their experience the moment they enter the classroom.
We need an iPad. An iPad in our classroom will provide the children access to a new research-based and standards-aligned software from Hatch titled “Ignite”. The Ignite software is a developmentally appropriate assessment tool that tracks each student’s progress as they play interactive learning games. In addition, the Ignite software correlates with the Teaching Strategies GOLD learning objectives that we use in Head Start.
We need this iPad to enable us to use Ignite software.
We can use the data to differentiate instruction, track my children’s progress, and keep the children’s families informed on their academic progress.
Most importantly, having an iPad in the classroom will make learning and assessment meaningful, purposeful, and engaging. Having this new technology available would only benefit my students moving forward. We appreciate you taking the time to read about my project!
