My students need craft bags, mosaic kits, rhinestones, frames, ribbon, crafters tape, tablecloths, and more to use for creative, hands-on activities and to make and wrap Mother's Day gifts.

My Students

Learning is more effective when it is an active rather than a passive process" - Euripides. This is especially true in kindergarten. So much of the building blocks of education that are acquired in kindergarten are more easily learned by exposure to hands-on activities.

My students are just beginning their educational journey and are so eager to learn.

To see the transformation in them from the beginning to the end of the year is so rewarding. Our school is a high poverty, urban school. Funding in our district, as in most others, is being stretched very thin. Staff is being cut and supply budgets are very lean; however, the expectations are higher than ever. I want to make sure that my students have the best opportunity to flourish in their time with me.

My Project

The materials you help us acquire through this project will help keep the children actively engaged while learning, building fine motor skills, and expressing themselves creatively. The arts and crafts materials I am requesting will let my students create and embellish art projects throughout the year that will supplement the curriculum. The frames, bags, and tissue paper will be used to make Mother's Day gifts. The gingham ribbon, table clothes, and accessories will be used for a thematic class celebration. The kids will love doing the mosaic kits while building fine motor skills. These, and all the other materials are so versatile and will be used across all subjects and in many different ways.

By supporting this project, you will help provide materials that will enhance my students learning with hands-on activities, creating artwork, and getting their creative juices flowing.
