I teach 24 very energetic and excited kiddos who love to move and groove!
The demands of the kindergarten curriculum have changed but the wiggly bodies of 5 year olds have not!
Although my students love to learn, it's hard for them to sit all day without getting some wiggles out.
For some of my students, this is their first school experience and their bodies are just starting to get used to a school setting. Our school is also a cluster sight for students with special needs which means I have a classroom full of diverse learners.
We seem to be asking so much of Kindergartners these days and we're constantly asking them to sit still and listen.
My Project
Having such a diverse group of kiddos and creating an environment where ALL students can learn can be a challenge. My students need 6 Kore Wobble Chairs to be able to concentrate during guided reading. Kindergartners are able to learn so many amazing things but sometimes their wiggles get in the way of their learning.
These wiggle seats would improve our learning environment and help accommodate the needs of my learners.
I have seen how beneficial these stools have been to students in my co-workers' classrooms during table time. They allow learners to focus and get work completed without any distractions to themselves or others. My students need this same opportunity.
