As kindergarten teachers, our responsibility is great. For many students, kindergarten will be their first academic experience and will leave an imprint defining what learning is to be. Our goal in this project is to provide and experience for students that will be memorable, engaging, and ultimately create life long learners.
While our students have had little exposure to a classroom setting, they are nonetheless eager to embrace this new frontier that stands before them.
Ben Franklin once said, "An investment in knowledge pays the best interest." We as teachers know educational dividends are PRICELESS.
My Project
When learning is exploratory and engaging students are unaware learning is taking place. Providing students with Word Building Blocks, a CVC Word Work Center, a Teaching Place Value Activity Center, Ten-Frames, and other literacy and math manipulatives, will allow students to explore, learn and think critically. The chosen activities are aligned with state and national standards and will provide support and differentiation to our diverse learning population. With a wide range of learners, students need to be provided with various learning platforms to support their learning styles.
Providing these engaging learning opportunities will harvest priceless dividends.
