Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a dyslexia specialist. My students are in grades 1st through 5th. Students live in a low socio-economic area. I teach at a Title I school. My students are so eager and excited to be able to just READ. They struggle to read so much and are willing to learn how to feel confident!
Students are willing to take what they have learn and show their peers and parents.
The students that I teach are excited about learning how to read, spell and write in cursive.
I remember getting hooked on a series of books as a child? The anticipation and excitement you felt waiting for and then finally reading. My students share that excitement and joy of waiting for and then finally devouring their favorite books. The students that I service are inquisitive, voracious readers who are craving to discover what brings can bring out in you. My students are book-loving, avid readers, and enthusiastic learners. Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. and are truly valued.
My Project
These electronic devices will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time in these electronic devices
With these new chromebook and tablet , my students will be able to search from a variety of online books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
They will also be able to choose online books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and searching books of their choice will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
