We’ve got ideas! We’ve got excitement! We love learning!
My third-grade students are creative, inquisitive, and ready to learn!
Our high-poverty school is located in the heart of a major metropolitan area and is the largest in our county with over 1,400 students from diverse ethnic backgrounds around the globe.
There are 18 students in my class, 11 boys and 7 girls ranging from 8-9 years old. My class is comprised of students from various backgrounds and interest levels, but they have one thing in common - a love of learning!
My Project
Communication is core of learning. Today there is such a strong focus on electronic communication that we can often forget the value of handwriting versus typing. Dry Erase boards engage learners to communicate with each other and to reinforce what we are learning unlike any other means of communication. This concrete method of communication improves fine motor skills, enables participants to practice handwriting, and improves memory recall. Dry erase boards are an effective and engaging means of independently working math problems or brainstorming ideas for writing as well as cooperatively helping peers understand and practice new skills we learn in class everyday!
