This project will help cover the total cost of the Breathe for Change comprehensive training program. I will gain knowledge on how to further facilitate wellness and social-emotional learning as well as be able to implement trauma-informed yoga into my teaching. I currently teach Social Emotional Art and Leadership Academy at my school. The skills that I will learn through this training will help me to dive deeper into being able to help students access a deeper understanding of themselves.
Since Covid-19, I have seen the rise of emotional instability and lack of focus.
Our students are becoming frustrated faster and behavior problems are on the rise. It is my hope that my students gain the tools to self-regulate, gain self-awareness, and learn empathy. Which in turn will not only uplift our school community but our families as well.
