Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school was the first school built in our area 50 years ago. Since then we have added four more schools. However, our school serves a much different population--most of our kids are Title I students whose families struggle.
Our school funds are being pulled in so many directions there isn't enough to go around.
That is why we need your help more than ever to produce physically and mentally fit young adults.
Our kids need experiences they wouldn't normally have and that is where you come in. Funding this project would help the kids increase their overall achievement in health class.
My Project
I chose these items because they are easy to use and are low tech. I generally have 40 students in each class and cannot always get to each student in a 50 minute class period.
Recent studies indicate the teacher makes the biggest impact on student learning.
Therefore, whiteboards and associated materials will help the students learn more and also help me be more effective as a classroom teacher.
There are so many uses for the whiteboards and materials--there are too many to write but a few examples are for: assessment, increases engagement, makes learning more fun, helps those who learn by doing, and they are convenient for all involved.
