Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I teach a wide range of students with different abilities. However, they are all eager to learn and become independent. This year we are introducing simple home economics lessons in hopes that through the lessons they learn how to cook and be independent and the skills can be transferred to home as well.

In order to do this we need functioning kitchen equipment to help teach them the basics.

A new hot plate, microwave, and ninja bullet will allow them to cook make smoothies, and other basic meals. We will also need a refrigerator to place the items in until its time to learn. Essentially my scholars will be able to experiment with new ideas and creations. The goal is to teach them to cook simple dishes to help foster continued independence at home.
