My students need 2 staplers and paper to mount and hang our artwork to and from, so that we can have a school art show and show off our hard work and creativity!
Upon completing a painting of outer space, a 5th grade student exclaimed to me, "Ms.V - that was fun!" He explained he was thrilled that he was able to make his planets look 3D by using value (the lightness or darkness of a color). Every day the students continue to amaze and inspire me. I am delighted to see the sense of pride and accomplishment my students have when they complete an art lesson.
Each week at KIS, all 600 students come to the art room to explore, discover, discuss, problem solve and create!
Art is an integral part of a child's education! I strongly believe studying and making art encourages students to communicate ideas, explore, experiment, and think creatively and critically while solving problems. Plus, art is fun!
Thank you for taking time to learn about and support the art program at KIS!
My Project
Last year, we had our first school art show, and it was a wonderful evening during which the community came together to support the hard work, and creativity of Kingston students! The paper our school will receive if this project is funded is essential to holding the art show. The artwork is displayed on large rolls of paper that is hung up, and the other paper is used to mount the students artwork.
The art show is an important event held to celebrate the creativity, skills, and effort our young artists put forth, and contributing to this project will make the art show possible!
