My Students

I am a 5th-grade teacher in a small, rural middle school our students come from hard-working families. We are a Title I school which means that we have a large number of students coming from low-income homes. My students love learning and work very hard. In our classroom, we are a family. The culture that we create, encourages empathy for others, tolerance, taking learning risks, and embracing the uniqueness of who we are as individuals. Because of this, my students give their all to themselves and each other every day! My classroom is a place that makes you look forward to going to and it is all because of the students that are in it!

My Project

Nearpod is an interactive online platform that makes learning fun for kids! One day a week my students will need to be remote from home. The other four days we will be in the classroom but six feet away from each other. This is going to make teaching and learning VERY challenging. Nearpod is a way for me to teach a lesson and interact with the students in real time. They will be able to do some incredible things with this program and it is completely compatible with the systems that we already have in place!
