Our school is a Title I school. My class consists of 12 students who have mild to moderate disabilities. This class focuses on Academic, Career and Essential Skills. Our classroom has a mix of students with different abilities and grades varying from first grade to third grade. Although our kids are frustrated on many different levels, I hope to strive and create a classroom that is supportive to each and ever child. A classroom that is fun, exciting, and encourages exploring and learning.
My Project
This project is for materials to create kinesthetic and visual stimulating task boxes for my students. Since my students are working on their IEP goals, these task boxes allow them to navigate and master their goals independently. The use of laminating sheets and velcro will help put together the boxes so that they last year after year. The ink cartridges will give us the resources to update and create new task boxes as the students master their IEP goals. In addition, the use of the activity chest organizer boxes will encourage the students to develop responsibility of maintaining and keeping track of their own learning.
