My students need 3 Sets of Fat Bats and Balls, 1 Kid-Sized Equipment Cart, 4 Draw String Ball Bags, 5 Soccer Balls, 5 Easy Grip Footballs, 4 Kickballs and 5 Basketballs.
My school is located in the East Rogers Park Area of Chicago. We serve a population of primarily 95% minority (African-American & Black) students. These students come from a low socio-economic status and the great majority receive free and/or reduced lunch meals.
The obstacle I'm currently facing is the number of supplies I have available versus the number of grades I teach. I'm currently the only gym teacher at my school and I teach students that range from grades pre-k through eighth. Therefore, the ability levels, motor skills and lessons need to be tailored accordingly and with the appropriate tools. I've found that grant writing can be pretty advantageous when resources are lacking.
The resources I need consist of a set of soccer balls, a set of basketball balls, bats and an equipment cart that will help me be more organized and that will allow me to execute my instruction in an orderly and timely fashion.
Through the funding of the materials requested, you will not only facilitate my job, but, you will also be investing in students who will thrive. Thanks in advance for reading my proposal and possibly considering it for funding.
