In this class, we build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences. Some of my students are learning to read, write, and count, while some of their classmates are learning to imitate sounds or hold a paintbrush. Our group loves to play outside, learn new games, and boogie to a sweet tune.
Intellectually disabled students are such an exciting group students with mixed interests, abilities, and goals.
We are part of a larger charter school that celebrates inclusion. I teach kindergartens, three general education . As my students make gains in my classroom, they begin to try small chunks of the day with their typically developing peers. My classroom is about building skills to get included. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day.
My Project
The kinesthetic and touch way of learning helps them be active and move around the classroom. It helps the life skills students to learn using color screen and not just depend on books and worksheets.
The board will increase their concentration and keep them engaged for longer duration.
This help them learn their skills set more effecient way and increase their social interation with one another and the teacher. This white board will be an incredible addition to the life skills class. I am fortunate and blessed to be the teacher of our life skills students and take immense pleasure in teaching.
