Kindness Rock Garden

My Students

Our school is in a rural town, and many of the students live in developments, condominium communities, on farms, or rent apartments. Some students have never seen a live cow, while others milk cows before coming to school in the morning.

Our community is very diverse and our families come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds.

Many families have moved here from New York City to provide a better environment for their children. Other families have settled in Orange County after coming to the United States.

My Project

Our elementary school has been actively exploring kindness and social emotional learning at every level. Children in kindergarten through fifth-grade have participated in kindness assemblies and have practiced identifying, acknowledging, and performing random acts of kindness. As a result, students have become more kindhearted and caring, and this project will provide our school community with some of the materials needed to create a kindness rock border around our memorial garden.

By painting a kindness message on a rock you help provide, students will cement their commitment to being kind.

School has been disrupted for two weeks now, and it is even more important that we remember to be kind to one another.
