Our students live in very rural area and our free lunch population is over 50%. Many of our students live in poverty and we also have a high substance abuse population among the families of our students. Our students need many things and I have created many endeavors to get them food, school supplies, shoes, and other daily living items that most of us take for granted. Our students in the primary grades are young and many of them enter Kindergarten with no prior preschool.
We have a club in the middle school called Random Acts of Kindness. We have many projects planned to spread kindness in our school. Example, we already posted inspirational messages on all of our lockers with post it notes. With the construction paper and poster boards we are making thank you cards for all staff and all bus drivers.
We are using the poster boards to make advertisements for our upcoming project - a stuffed animal drive.
The stuffed animals will be donated to local emergency personnel (fire, police, ambulance) to provide comfort to children in tragedy situations.
If you donated to this project, you can sign in to leave a comment for Mr. Menard.
