Our school is a Title I campus. Many of my students have free or reduced-price lunch. Some of them do not have access to technology at home.
My students are eight and nine years old.
My school is an academy, it means they tested to be here. All of them are very smart, they are very excited to learn every single day.
This school year we are moving to STEAM, the students are very engaged with these new projects.
Enthusiasm, creativity, and eager to learn, is a perfect description of my students.
With the book Wonder and Charlotte's Web, I want to show my students to be a "Kind Classroom.”
I believe that the world and our classrooms could use more kindness.
This book (Wonder) is about a middle school boy with a physical deformity who constantly struggles to fit in. Charlotte's web, kindness is a mayor topic too. I need both in Spanish for my ELL.
I I would like to use these books for an in-depth novel study with my scholars during our Reading time. As they are reading they will work in their journals to complete their Reader Response Journal. Now is the time for students to realize that not everyone learns or looks the same. My goals is to inspire students and to give them an opportunity to fall in love with reading.
