My students come from a variety of economic backgrounds, so I have a really wide range of those who need extra help and those who need to be challenged a lot more. COVID-19 has definitely impacted them both educationally and mentally. There are many gaps to try and fill in both areas.
My Project
My students love to read, but I don't have many of their favorite titles in my classroom library, so the books that I have chosen will continue to keep them excited about reading.
As a first year teacher, I am trying to build up supplies in my classroom.
Things like pencils and Expo markers have been very hard to keep stocked, so this will take a big financial burden off of my shoulders.
My students are budding artists! Having adequate art supplies will help them to not only develop their creative side, but will also help many of my students to work through different emotions and feelings supporting their social emotional health as well.
