My students live in a high poverty area. My school is a Title I school. Every day is a struggle. Some more than others. I want to give them the opportunity to do hands-on center rotations using Kindles. This will let our auditory learners read online and on-level books while learning new English vocabulary words. The Kindles will allow my students to focus on different objectives in reading and math while practicing on-line programs such as MyOn, Imagine Learning, and Think Through Math.
My Project
Our world is quickly becoming dependent on the use of technology. We see it everywhere! Our students are expected to learn, play, and even test on computers. However, the computers in our classroom are outdated and it is a constant struggle to keep them working. I am asking for 2 Kindles for my students to use them in a rotation during center time to practice their reading and math skills. These Kindles will benefit all of the students in my class. When using MyOn, Image Language Literacy, and Think Through Math software or various learning websites, the content can be adjusted to the level of each student. This way the struggling students can be met at their level, gifted students can be met at their level, and every other student at their level in between.
