Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our elementary school is located in a small community in Washington state and serves over 1000 students K-6. Our culturally diverse population is energetic and eager to learn but have lacked opportunities in technology. This project will provide a purpose for their learning.

Our dream is to lay the foundation to become active and life long learners.

Helping students learn skills will help develop technological confidence. Every student that enters our school needs an opportunity to learn current technology and skills that will help them reach beyond the classroom and prepare them for 21st century careers.

My Project

The Kindles will give my students access to technology which will motivate and engage my young learners. They will give the students individual lessons and offer differentiation for my developing readers and mathematicians.

These will offer exciting learning opportunities in reading, writing, and math.

Students will have the opportunity to work on letter formation, recognizing letter sounds, identifying simple to more complex words, reading sentences and stories. These lessons will promote reading foundations, increase reading fluency and benefit reading comprehension. Students will also have the opportunity in math to work on number recognition and number formation, counting, adding and subtracting.
