My students need Kindle Fires, charging stations, and cases for our cooperative classroom that encourages parent participation. This will allow students to explore digital media together while building their collaboration, cooperation and communication.
My students are amazing! I have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students each day. I've returned to the classroom after traveling the world due to my husband's military service. Having taught third grade for 10 years and now back in the classroom as a math teacher, I am in need of math supplies to make my lessons more engaging for my 21st Century Learners.
My wonderful students thrive on using technology in the classroom.
They love to navigate various types of math driven games, manipulatives, and learning experiences. In addition, they share their work on a digital portfolio using the SeeSaw app. They also love to use Seesaw to take videos and pictures of them explaining their knowledge of math skills learned that day. Parents are involved in the students' learning because they are able to see their digital portfolio. This has been an invaluable communication tool that all the parents can utilize daily.
My Project
My students will use these Kindle Fires with cases and charging stations to extend their learning in the 21st century and build their collaboration and problem solving skills. My students will be able to share their thinking through the use of SeeSaw as they share and teach about the different skills we are learning in class. Every student in class will be able to view and comment on each other’s work which will allow them to further expand their grasp of the content we wish for them to learn. In addition to using the Kindle Fires for collaboration in the classroom, we would love to use them to encourage more parent participation.
This will allow our students to share their learning and parents will be more connected to the classroom.
With more technology in the classroom, students will also be able to further explore the vast amounts of information available to them online. We have seen the benefits of project based learning in our classroom. Adding technology to these projects gives students the added benefit of expanding their knowledge on different subjects and also allows them to collaborate with one another using digital media.
