This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of students who are growing up in the tumultuous climate that is plaguing Baltimore and many other areas in this country. Even with all of the stresses that they face, they are still eager to learn and love school. The troubles of the world around them have not discouraged their young minds.

With all they will learn about the world, my students need the right resources to help them to continue to love of learning and desire to change the world.

My Project

These Kids Edition Amazon Kindle Fire Tablets, sleeves and SD cards will provide students with safe technology to access learning apps. These tablets will allow my students to independently learn phonics, math and other skills during independent centers time. My students will simply think it's fun, but I will be able to program apps geared towards the needs of my students.

We live in a technology driven age, so it is necessary for young children to understand how to use new devices.

Kindle has a mode on its tablet that presents content specifically created for children. This will allow my students to have computer access without having to worry about them accidentally opening up extraneous websites.
