Our 23 fifth graders come from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of learning styles and needs. 5th grade requires students to go farther and think more critically in all subject areas. This is where technology comes in!
These 5th graders get excited about learning new things, especially when they can collaborate and share their newfound knowledge with others.
I get just as excited as they do when those "lightbulb" moments occur! These 10- and 11-year-olds are teaching me as much as I am trying to teach them!
My Project
We are fired up about technology in our classroom! These Kindle Fire tablets and cases will provide numerous educational tools, apps, and games to further students' enthusiasm for learning in our digital world. My students are already familiar with so many wonderful programs and apps, but it is difficult to get access to our school's devices when we need them.
These Kindle Fires will help ensure access to technology any time we need it - fluency practice, showing their mathematical thinking, coding, and interactive science lessons, and even creating book projects to present to others.
The possibilities for learning and exploration are almost endless! We are excited to have these wonderful tools at our fingertips.
